Anca is a 26 years old Romanian who believes that changing the world is an inside job first and foremost. She has been involved in the youth field, with an emphasis on development and peace education, for more than 6 years. She started volunteering with AEGEE Cluj-Napoca (part of AEGEE Europe – European Students’ Forum), where she was involved both as board member and then as president. The focuses here were on encouraging youth participation, active citizenship and fostering intercultural communication.
Later on, Anca has worked with PATRIR – Peace Action, Training and Research Institute of Romania, as a Coordinator of GlocalTour, a national educational campaign on the Millennium Development Goals and Development Education.
She holds an American MPA in Community Development with a thesis in Development Education and BA in Communication
with a thesis on Leadership and Emotional intelligence. Anca is passionate about the role of youth in peace building, about development and peace education, with a focus on inner peace tools, and holds a trainer certificate for leading meditation workshops. Along the years, Anca has been involved in different initiatives such as Leadership Summer School, World Forum for Democracy, International Human Rights Summit, GAMIP (Global Alliance of Ministries and Infrastructures for Peace) and others.
In her free time, Anca is passionate about skiing, water sports, travelling off the beaten track and cozy talks with heart-warming people.
