Aya Chebbi is an award winning Tunisian activist and blogger. She is the founding chair of the African Youth Movement and cofounder of the Voice of Women initiative. She previously worked at the refugee camps during Libya’s civil war, at Bureau de Cooperation TunisieDenmark in Tunis, and at the Carter Center monitoring 2012 Egyptian Presidential Elections, in Cairo.
Aya has become a worldrenowned blogger during Tunisia’s Revolution and her pieces were published at OpenDemocracy and AlJazeera among others. In recognition of her achievements, Aya was named as one of Africa’s most Outstanding Young Women leaders in 2013 and as Young Achiever of the Year 2015. At EPS, Aya will talk about the role of the youth in nonviolent resistance and her story with transformational change.
